Description
Transcript from an interview with feminist researcher Sue Sharpe about the Women, Risk and AIDS Project (WRAP), which was conducted in 1989-1990. Sue is a freelance feminist researcher who has conducted numerous interviews with young women (and young men) as part of different research projects. For WRAP she conducted interviews with young women in London, and here she describes what it meant to be a feminist researcher in the 1980s, the emergence of computer assisted qualitative data analysis software to analyse qualitative data, the homogeneity of WRAP participants and ways in which they were accessed. As one of the interviewers for the follow on Men, Risk and AIDS Project, she also reflects on her experiences of interviewing young men. The interview concludes with discussion of the importance of putting the WRAP data in context when viewed by future archive users, socially, historically and politically.
